Q: How do I activate my Everplans account?
When you sign up, you’ll receive a welcome email from your funeral home. The email will include a button or link that says “Activate your Everplans account.” Click this, and it will take you to the Everplans website.
There, you'll be asked to:
- Confirm your date of birth
- Enter your zip code
- Create a secure password
Q: What kind of password do I need to create?
To keep your information safe, your password must include:
- One uppercase letter (A–Z)
- One lowercase letter (a–z)
- One number (0–9)
- At least 8 characters total
Q: What is two-step verification, and do I need it?
Yes, it’s highly recommended. Two-step verification adds an extra layer of protection for your plan.
Here’s how it works:
- Enter your cell phone number
- You’ll receive a 6-digit code by text
- Enter the code to verify your number

You’ll then receive a backup code. Please write this down and keep it in a safe place, like a locked drawer or with your important papers.
📝 Completing Your Plan
Q: What are the Enrollment Questions?
After verifying your account and setting up security, you’ll be asked to complete a short set of enrollment questions to help build your plan. These questions are simple and personal—just answer to the best of your ability. A progress bar at the top of the screen shows how far along you are.
Q: Why is my funeral home requesting permission?
Before your funeral home can help you with your plan, you’ll need to give them permission. After answering the enrollment questions, you’ll see a screen asking you to grant permission. Just follow the prompt to confirm.

Q: What can I do from the dashboard?
The dashboard is your central hub. From here, you can:
- Add details to your plan
- Review your funeral preferences
- Access helpful articles
- Safely store important documents
- Share information with trusted people

🤝 Sharing With Deputies
Q: What is a deputy?
A deputy is someone you trust—like a family member or close friend—who can access part or all of your Everplan.
Q: How do I add a deputy?
Look for the “Invite Now” button on your dashboard.
Then:
- Enter their first and last name
- Enter their email address
- Choose their relationship to you
- Decide what they’re allowed to see
- Add a personal note if you like
- Click Send Invitation
Q: What does my deputy receive?
They’ll receive an email with your name, a short message, and a secure link to access what you’ve shared.
Q: Can I manage or update deputies later?
Yes! Just click on “Sharing” ’ from the menu to view or manage the people who have access to your plan.

Q: Where should I store my backup code?
Write it down and store it with your Will, power of attorney, or other important documents. Do not share it with anyone except a trusted family member or attorney.
